We launched Fred Rose Tobacco after asking various “unofficial” Swiss Cannabis stores what type of blend would be ideal when mixed with Cannabis. It came out from our discussions and various testing that it would be more complicated than we thought : producing just a filler type of tobacco (with not much taste) ended up with a harshness we did not expect while tobaccos with too much taste were covering Cannabis taste.

When the far right Swiss political party released their racist / islamophobic campaign to send back foreigners living in Switzerland, we could not help making a parallel with smokers becoming the outcasts of our society. The slogan “you will always be the blacksheep of someone else” still resonates even louder today.

This was our first “big budget” marketing campaign placed in daily newspapers. We won the 1st prize for best Swiss print campaign.
We know for sure that the IOC was thinking about legal action against us with regard to the 1st visual. Obviously they realised they had more to lose….
Our second anniversary on a hidden Lausanne Roof Top with DJ positioned on a small platform 30 meters above the street. At 22:15, we saw the police in the street trying to find the entrance of the place : when they finally rung the door they told us with a grim on their face that they had never received so many phone call complaining about the music being too loud. How a small event with 50-70 people could be remembered for all people living in the center of Lausanne!
